OHSC Batch 5

The Udayana One Health Students Club (OHSC) is a soft skill and hard skill training program in the field of One Health. It was originally initiated by Global Health True Leaders alumni from Bali and is fully supported by PUI One Health. Since 2018, this program has consistently trained students from various majors and institutions to collaborate in enhancing One Health capacity, which is crucial for a rapid response to pandemics and other health threats. Through training focused on collaboration, coordination, and communication, Udayana OHSC prepares students to become reliable agents of change in addressing global health issues.

In 2023, OHSC began Batch 5, involving students from various majors and universities such as Udayana University, International Bali University, Mahasaraswati University, ITEKES, Stikes Kesdam IX/Udayana, STMIK PRIMAKARA, and others. In one of its classes, the Guest Lecture, students in OHSC Batch 5 had the opportunity to gain insights from Arie Rukmantara, Public Communication Team for the COVID-19 Task Force, for the Leadership in The Digital Age class, and from Santi Sari Esayanti, General Superintendent of Media Relations at PT. Freeport Indonesia, for the Impactful Communication class. During the Institutional Visit, OHSC Batch 5 visited West Bali National Park in Buleleng, Bali, to hear directly from experts about conservation efforts and challenges in protecting the endangered Bali Starling. The visit of OHSC Batch 5 participants to the fishing community around West Bali National Park aimed to understand their collaborative strategies for environmental protection and mutually beneficial resource utilization in the area.

OHSC Batch 5 produced two Student Projects funded by Udayana OHCC: "SOMAT: Socialization and Mebat Bareng" in Abiansemal Village, Badung, Bali, and "Community Care for Rabies Prevention (Project ZEROH)" in Rendang Village, Karangasem, Bali. Both student projects proceeded smoothly due to the warm welcome and enthusiasm of the local communities for the students' outreach.
