OHSC Batch 6
The Udayana One Health Students Club (OHSC) is a soft skill and hard skill training program in the field of One Health, originally initiated by Global Health True Leaders alumni from Bali and fully supported by PUI One Health. Since 2018, this program has consistently trained students from various majors and institutions to collaborate in strengthening One Health capacity, which is crucial for rapid response to pandemics and other health threats. Through training focused on collaboration, coordination, and communication, Udayana OHSC prepares students to become reliable agents of change in addressing global health issues.
In 2024, OHSC continued with its 6th batch, engaging students from various departments and universities such as Udayana University, International Bali University, Mahasaraswati University, Dhyana Pura University, ITEKES, and others. In one of its classes, the Guest Lecture, students in OHSC Batch 6 had the opportunity to gain insights from Arie Rukmantara, Senior Policy Communication Advisor to Prasa Komunikasi Consulting, on Impactful Communication, and from Cazadira Fediva Tamzil, Director of Public Policy at Pijar Foundation, on Personal Branding. During the Institutional Visit, OHSC Batch 6 visited Monkey Forest in Ubud, Bali, to hear directly from the veterinarians and staff responsible not only for the health and welfare of the monkeys living in their habitat but also for the community coexisting with the area.
OHSC Batch 6 produced one Student Project, funded by Udayana OHCC, titled "Introduction to the Infectious Disease Rabies Through the Puppet Theater of Luna and The Rabid Dog" in Ababi Village, Karangasem, Bali. The target of this project was elementary school children at SD Negeri 7 Ababi, who were educated about the dangers of rabies and how to prevent its transmission. Participants gained an understanding of the importance of pet vaccination, recognizing early symptoms, and appropriate first aid in the event of an animal bite.
